Trying to find a quality kettle at a good price that is still aesthetically pleasing is like the Jacksonville Jaguars going to the Super Bowl. Seems impossible. However, after searching for items online and reading countless reviews, I think I've finally found "the one". I wanted the steel to be enameled because the paint wears off too quickly. So, that's the first thing I like about this teapot. The handle is comfortable to hold and I love that it's only half a handle. Removing and attaching the cover has become much easier. Some reviews say the handle gets hot and warn about using an oven mitt when handling. I did not have to. I only use the oven mitt when opening the spout to pour. It heats up quickly and the whistle isn't too loud in my opinion. Just loud enough. I've only recently had this kettle so I can't comment on durability yet, but I'll update my review on that later. I haven't seen any rust problems yet. I think a lot of people have rust problems from leaving water in the kettle, which you should never do. At the end of the day, I rinse the kettle out and let it air dry without the lid. Then I will wash it once a week to remove any water buildup inside. The color is beautiful. I chose caribbean blue to match my kitchen. I also have an electric stove but I'll be switching to gas soon so I'll update that as well once I do. Just keep in mind that people who have gas stoves leave some residue on the floor. That's typical. Just keep wiping it and it will last a long time. With the purchase of this kettle there is hope! And so the Jaguars also have hope ;)
