I bought this to find hot spots on the grill! I knew it heated unevenly and now I know the right burner is about 50 degrees hotter than the left! Much more accurate than the thermometer built into my grill. I've also used this thermometer to find hot spots on the ceiling. I was surprised to find that some parts of my house are very poorly insulated, with the ceiling reaching nearly 100°F in some places and 70°C in others. That could explain my air conditioning bill in the summer! I'll let you know when I add more insulation.
