Review on πŸš— High Visibility Self-Adhesive Reflective Tape for Vehicles, Bikes, Clothes, Helmets, and Mailboxes - Silver White, 1-inch x 15 feet by Daniel Bruce

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Useful for cyclists and anyone who needs to mark something for nighttime visibility

First a little background: I have been cycling to work in different cities for several years. Regardless of location, if you think you're visible enough, you're not. I'm lit up like an LED Christmas tree and I still get hit by speeding drivers and cut off by careless bikers. So I thought it might be worth considering getting some reflective tape - reflective materials have come a long way over the past few years and I've found that the latest safety vests work even during the day. I bought this tape mainly for my helmet and bike. It had to be wide enough to be useful, long enough to hold for multiple purposes (like changing helmets/new bikes), and cheap enough that I could experiment comfortably. This band seems to fit the bill! Application: The tape is plastic-coated so that it appears at least somewhat weather-resistant. The adhesive base is sticky and sticks well to plastic and metal. It comes off easily with just your fingers. The photos show that it handles curved surfaces quite well (like the down tubes on my bike, the sides of my helmet). Visibility: I took pictures in the bathroom with the lights on and off. With a point source (camera flash, flashlight/headlight) the effect is stunning. With broader/diffused light (lights on during the day) it is significantly less effective. Durability: TBD, I will update this review if the band breaks suddenly in the rain or something. But the build quality is encouraging. The only downside I can think of is that this band isn't great for fabric or anything that folds a lot. So don't make a homemade life jacket or backpack liner without planning first.
