I bought this for a guest cabin bedroom that doesn't have a closet. Since this is a limited space I only used half the length of the rack leaving the extra pipe and connector for other projects. was perhaps unnecessary. Once installed it was pretty solid and I could probably leave the pipes loose in the fittings. With only half the parts, attaching the wall mount holes to the posts was pretty easy. I almost hit the center of the top/bottom holes right in the posts (if I had been more accurate I wouldn't have had to tilt one side to hit the wood in the wall but my x-ray vision was a little blurry that day) . I used the included anchors to secure the left and right holes (although there were more than enough bolts). Home Depot pinning that adds an unpolished "industrial" and rustic feel. I could have painted them black but the hangers I added were also black and silver so it just completed the whole setup. I added a fabric basket at the top. where you can store an extra blanket or pillow (or leave it empty at guest's request to hide their delicate items if they wish). These shelves also matched bookshelves and wall shelves purchased for another room in the same cabin (see reviews and photos from my profile).
