Tinsel is fine, does not crumble or come loose. It should be noted that it is 1/2 inch wide (so very thin) and if it has wire it will not be strong enough to wrap the ends around the object and leave it in place. I have tinsel on my industrial wire ladder and I tied the ends to the railing wire to keep it in place. You can definitely glue it on as well, but I was hoping to avoid doing that for easier decoration. The small diameter of the tinsel makes the tape harder to hide. On the other hand, it would be a great tinsel for gift wrapping. It's easy to tie.
