Works as expected in rails and rail guards
I have used them on lower bunk beds with no side rails for a 2 year old who has yet to change from a cot. They swelled up quickly and completely. The center of the bumper is shifted outwards a bit, but not enough to make it ineffective. The child was able to get in and out of bed easily, but crawled out from between the bumper and footboard at the bottom. This worked well and the eldest grandson chose to sleep on the other bottom bump bunk of this bed rather than on the top bunk, although this child has slept in a regular bed for the past 3 years. Happy with the purchase.
