Review on Divergent Discs Kraken Fairway Driver by Robbie Guinn

Frustrating Plastic

Background: I have one of the two set Kraken prototypes that were available a few months ago. The disc just touched me; it quickly became my favorite CD of all time - probably over 100 hits in a few months. I just love this disc, he mocked him SO MUCH but it still looks great and flies great! I bought three more of these because of my affection for him, simply because I couldn't be without them if I lost them. Tonight I went to play, took both the new Kraken and my original one as I wanted to compare flights (the profiles are noticeably different). However, after a few holes, it became clear that this "premium" plastic was nowhere near as good as the old Kraken. A couple of dives into the footpath and hitting a tree left it looking absolutely ruined. This Max Grip head is only slightly more durable than the base Innova head, which is incredibly disappointing (it's not even very grippy). I'm going to return the two unthrown octopuses and leave the battered one, hoping I can at least get a few good rounds with it before it falls apart. If you liked the plastic of the previous version, save yourself the hassle and avoid it.

Pros
  • UNIVERSAL FAIRWAY DRIVER: When thrown in a controlled and gentle manner, the Kraken can fly straight and predictably for all disc golfers.
Cons
  • Some small things
