I bought this to replace the Snom M3 system. Yealink W56P has a very nice interface and unlike the Snom system, the DECT base is POE, so installation is easier (just one cable). I hooked this up to an Asterisk system and the sound is great. Both the phone's speaker and speaker aren't Polycom Soundstations, but they do have more bass presence than the M3 phones. One thing Snom did that Yealink doesn't is show how many vmail messages I have that are NOT new. New messages are received with no problem, but after you've read them you'll have to manually check your voicemail to see how many messages you've read. For me it's a small detail, but for others it might be important - it might also be a setting I missed on Yealink, but I don't think so. Another slightly annoying thing is that while the keyboard is backlit, the other 6-inch button controls are not. One of the reasons for replacing the Snom system was that the phones didn't have a backlight, so Yealink didn't have to have all the buttons backlit. put a star.
