I use it on the lowest level of the door, closer to the hinge because my elderly mother is very short. She loves it after only two uses, it helps her a lot with getting in and out. Also used for my husband, a very tall man, and it held in place very well as he pulled and squeezed the handle. The second was placed on the back of the headrest in the back seat so the mother could use it when she was behind. very satisfied with this product
