Review on Bosch DSB5013P Daredevil Spade - 13 Piece Set for Ultimate Drilling Efficiency by Shane Schobinger

These are BETTER than Irwin Speedbor Max spade bits! I used Irwin bits and thought they were great until I tried Bosch Daredevil. I used a couple of these last weekend when I was remodeling my bathroom and they worked amazing! Smaller bits cut through wood and 2X4 studs with ease. Compared to the Irwin Speedbor Spade Bit or the Standard Spade Bit, these bits do the job just as well. With the Irwin the bit is definitely grabbing a lot more wood at once so I always felt like I had to push the blade and it was always rough even with a corded bit. Daredevil took off without that feeling and it seems like Irwin jaded faster than Daredevil, but I still haven't used Daredevil enough to know if he'll outlive Irwin. Drill for a large hole and I knew a cordless drill wouldn't cut through it, so I plugged in my Dewalt 8 amp corded drill. This drill bit definitely takes power, and I had to stop and start a bunch to get through 3" wood. It wasn't bad, but I definitely had to stop and start and turn the drill back and forth several times to finally cut through. I don't blame that for the chisel because if Kraft was behind it I'd bet it would go through non-stop non-stop. DURABILITY I still don't know how they will hold up as I've only used them for a couple of holes but touching the new bit versus the ones I've been using I don't feel any difference and the edge is still feels very sharp. Clean cuts and seem to stay sharp. This is now my favorite drill set.
