Review on Minka-Aire F553L-ORB Minute 52 Inch LED Energy Star Rated Ceiling Fan with DC Motor and 3 Speed Pull Chain - Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish by Keisha Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very quiet, very low power consumption, very bright Dimmable LED lamp

This fan is equipped with a DC motor, which is a very important feature for a ceiling fan. All AC motor fans have a low frequency of 60Hz. Hum, which can be very disturbing, especially at night when sleeping. This fan does not hum at all and is very quiet. A more expensive DC motor makes the fan quiet. It also uses some of the energy that an AC fan uses for the same air movement, since DC motors are much more energy efficient than older, inefficient AC motors. Note that at low speed, the fan uses only 2 1/2 watts to move 1750 cfm of air. High Speed: 37W, 185 RPM, average airflow of 5029 cfm. Speed: 21W, 3490 cfm airflow Low Speed: 2.48W, 67 rpm, 1746 cfm airflow while consuming only 26 watts at full brightness. This is equivalent to about three 60W lightbulbs. The light is very well diffused and does not dazzle the eyes behind the white frosted glass lampshade. The fan and light can be turned on and off separately from standard wall switches if you have ceiling fans hooked up to your home. You can also purchase an optional Minka wall switch module that controls three fan speeds and dims the lights with this wall switch. The Minka Aire model number for this wall switch is WDC1200 and costs about $47.
