Review on 🎧 Meze Rai Solo Wired In-Ear Monitor Headphones - Noise Isolating Earbuds, Premium Metal Ergonomic Earphones by Rebecca Stokes

I bought these a few weeks ago and use them almost every day so I've had good experiences with them. I'll start with the build quality. The build quality is very solid here. The milled metal feels smooth and looks great. The MMCX connectors are well latched and don't dangle. They are lightweight but do not feel heavy when in use. I'm very happy with the build quality here. That's how they fit. They are smaller than the IEM and I find them extremely comfortable. My ears are medium-sized, sit at the same height in the ear and don't stick out. I've had issues with other IEMs where I could only wear them for about 20 minutes before having to take them out and put them back up. Not with these. I can wear them for hours with no problems. They come with a good selection of tips. I use medium sized single tips as they fit my ear best. They also include a double flange and deep insertion tips for those who need them. Unfortunately, I couldn't get them to sit well in my ears, so I can't comment too much on them. They have pretty good insulation. After all, you have pieces of metal in your ears. It's not as good as a quality ANC, but it's solid as far as passive isolation goes. how do they sound I'll skip the weird audiophile terms and just describe them as reliable generalists. They don't excel in any particular area, but they don't fall behind in any area either. They're not aggressive or bright, so if you just want the music to fade into the background, you can do that with them. They're also not very relaxed, so if you want to focus on the details, you can do that too. That's why I'm calling these Rovers. First I ran them straight from my phone and they sounded ok. Nothing extraordinary, but nothing terrible either. Simply good. Then I threw them out of my FiiO BTR5 and then they came to life. The audio was deeper and not as subtle as my phone. I would recommend at least a good phone dongle if not a dedicated amp/DAC like the BTR5 for them. You can of course run them just from your phone if you want, but don't expect anything surprising. So if you want a fast, aggressive and straight forward sound, you can look elsewhere. The same goes if you want really quiet sound. But if you're looking for something that does everything reasonably well at an affordable price, this might be what you're looking for. I was personally looking for it and that's why I'm keeping it.
