Review on 🍽️ EatSmart ESKS-01 Precision Pro Silver Digital Kitchen Scale - Accurate and Reliable Measurement by Laura Peterson

I bought this scale in November 2011. Loved, loved, loved. It is well calibrated, easy to read and clean. It serves all the purposes I bought it for. Let's fast forward a few months. When I turn it on I get a blinking meaningless display. No problem, I thought. It's most likely just batteries. So I changed the batteries. Same problem. Also, the on/off feature seems to be gone, so when I try to turn it off it just keeps flashing (and burning battery). It will eventually shut down, but that shouldn't happen. A few days later I decided to check it again. I may have inserted the batteries incorrectly. Maybe they were old. So bought new batteries and tried again. Same result. I decided to do an impromptu and unscientific test, so I put the item on the plate. He started registering weight, but with the stationary object on the platter, he was moving up and up and up like he'd lost his poor little digital mind. I couldn't get it to stabilize and display actual weight on repeated attempts. This is disappointing. I know I've had a good two years, but I'm really not happy with the idea of a product like this being made with built-in obsolescence. I bought a digital scale for convenience, but will probably switch to an analog scale because it lasts forever. Edited on 01/09/2014. wondering if there is any troubleshooting I could do. To my surprise (and delight) that same evening I received an email from the company's VP asking for my Revain order number and mailing address so that he could send me a replacement! The company far exceeded my expectations and not only did a full replacement for me free of charge, I was even more impressed that they responded so quickly - and over the weekend! New scales have arrived and after new batteries are installed they work like new. I like these scales when they work. As I said before, Tara is great, easy to use and accurate. I would like to split this review into two parts. To be honest I can't give the scale more than 4 stars as it died and had to be replaced but I would give the seller 10 stars if I could for their support of their product and excellent customer service. Anyhow, the whole experience was so exceptional that 5 stars doesn't seem enough.
