Great product for only $30

I received a used upholstered leather chair from a friend. This is exactly the chair I wanted for my room but I hate the feel of leather and I have 4 cats so I was worried they might poke holes in it when walking. I wanted a case for it, but I'm also on a tight budget, so I did a little research for something affordable and pretty, and something that would probably match the skin. This is the cover I chose - It came earlier than expected - It's a single piece of fabric that covers the entire chair - The fabric is thin (perhaps similar in thickness to a standard quality t-shirt) but strong and very stretchy - Inward 4 elastic straps attached to the bottom of the chair - Comes with 3 pieces of foam to insert on 3 sides of the seat to hold the fabric in place - Good quality elastic fabric around the tight one Floor around - very stretchy fabric, fits any chair from standard size to very large (probably too big for a small chair) - this does NOT make the chair brand new, nor does it make it "upholstered". - This slipcover is a wonderful, inexpensive way to give your chair and room a new look, but don't expect it to look perfect - order and receive a 'Chocolate' cover, it really is 'Chocolate' or maybe "Espresso" - It thickens a little in some odd places, but not too much - Cove Chair from top to bottom, except for the armrest. Being a textured fabric, it doesn't seem too overly so to slide over my skin I'm sitting, and that's great. The instructions that come with it are terrible. I'll include a quick installation guide based on what worked for me, at the very bottom of this review for those who need advice!) - pocket on the left - nice touch - it gets on a weird one on my chair Spot but still works great - I turned my chair upside down - down to attach the two "back" elastic attachment straps - attaching them without flipping the chair would be very difficult. The other two 'front' attachment straps attach to the underside of the footrest which attaches easily with the footrest open - this is NOT easy to install if you have a physical disability or mobility issues - I tried it on my mom's chair before putting it on hers (to show her how it would fit her chair) and loved the look so much she would order it in a different color - I guess it's a cover if it does Properly cared for, it will easily last for years. At only $30 I couldn't reasonably ask for more from this product. I would definitely buy this product again. Recommend this product to a friend * For installation: If your chair is in a corner of a room, against a wall or next to other furniture or anything, drag it to the center of the room. This will greatly facilitate all your further actions. Open the footrest before you start. Locate the stylus hole in the case (when sitting on the chair, the stylus will be to your right so the case will fit) and replace the cover. Before putting the cap on, make sure it is turned inside out. White rubber bands should be inside. Start at the top of the "back" and work your way down from there. Once the cover covers the entire chair, attach the two front elastics to the underside of the footrest. Simply tie it to the pole below. If possible, choose a location away from moving parts or connecting parts, because if the rubber band moves or slips into these parts, it will wear out much faster. I stretched the strap to about 50% of its stretch capacity, tight enough to secure the case, and then tied it only once. I would recommend not double knotting it as at some point you will need to remove the cover to wash it and over time the elastic will inevitably stretch and loosen requiring you to retie it. If tied too tightly, it will be impossible to open without cutting and breaking the elasticity. Once this is done, close the footrest and turn the chair upside down. You should remove the back cover and simply slide it up and out of the way. Open the back panel of your chair (usually it's held on with velcro or something). Use both hands: with one hand, pull the strap from the top (it should go through the back corner of the seat) and with the other, pull the strap through the bottom of the chair. Don't be afraid to put your hand in the cushions here, you have to pull the strap all the way down. Once he's mostly over, use your other hand to catch him from behind/below. My chair has two bars that aren't really connected to anything else on the chair, so I just attached them with straps and didn't bother tying them to anything. But every chair is made differently, so do what's best, and remember you don't want them permanently fixed. Also, be sure to attach the straps to a location on the chair that is not too close to any moving parts. After they are connected, remake the back panel on the chair, put the cover on completely and turn it over. Put the chair back in the correct position. To install the 3 foams, do not tuck in the fabric and then try to insert the foams. It is not that easy. Instead, when the fabric is straight, take a piece of foam at a time, find the one closest to the center of the fabric to tuck into the crease, place the piece of foam at that "middle" spot and then thread it into a fabric. and at the same time a piece of foam. Do this for all three pieces of foam, for the backrest and both sides of the seat. Make final adjustments or move the case and you're done! Enjoy your new chair cover!
