Review on Norpro Inch Pie Crust Shield by Greg Sullivan

I found it useless for baking my cakes. The 10 inch protective screen barely fits a 9.5 inch Pyrex glass cake pan. The screen's design with cutouts in the annular edge shows that it was designed to accommodate grips on a 9.5-inch Pyrex mold. Trouble is, if your pies don't have a thin crust, they won't work. Slatted crust and this screen doesn't fit the edge of the crust in my 9.5 inch pyrex sheet. The screen diameter is 10.5 inches. The dimensions given on the molds and baking pans are inside diameters, not outside diameters. I have two types of Pyrex cookware, both marked 9.5 inches, but one is 11 1/2 outside diameter. 8" and the other 9 7/8". This screen can fit over 9.5 inch aluminum cake pans, but they won't work for glassware. Designed by someone who doesn't bake cakes.
