Well, I've had and still have several irons that cost between $150 and $20. This is a really great iron! I have 23 inch thick hair with thin strands and lots of natural waves and body. This flat iron really straightened my hair in no time, pun intended? Oh. What sets me apart the most, unlike my other irons, is that it's very thin. It's smoother than any flat iron I've ever worked with, which seems to make it easier for me to reach my head without creating those pesky creases that can end up near my scalp. My only criticism of this iron is that it doesn't have an auto shut off and it really MUST have a feature for a space cadet like me.
