This is a 5 star rating and for the price it's easy to accept. We bought a camera for a snorkeling trip and it was fantastic. We took a lot of great underwater photos, but we ended up using it for a lot of dry shots too. It has a surprising number of cool features for such a cheap camera, including face detection, tons of scene settings (including wet ones like beach, snow, and underwater), decent zoom, 640x480 video, and impressive load times. about 2 seconds. We kept discovering new little features throughout the journey. It's not a professional camera at all, but it's great for point-and-shoot photography. It's also great for muddy places like the beach because if it turns out to be sandy or muddy you can just dip it in water and rinse. We used to carefully bring a prettier soap dish to the beach and keep it in a plastic bag the whole time. Now we're much calmer and less paranoid about the camera drop, which is really great. We still use a better camera when we need great photos, but for casual shooting or vacations, this is our gadget now. fixed before filming at all), we once saw some condensation on the inside of the screen (not sure if that indicates a problem or if it can happen when it gets really hot) and it's only rated for 10ft, so it's been like this a few times when i couldn't dive as far as i wanted with it without risk of hurting the seals. It can also be a bit slow at times when viewing images, although the superzoom thumbnail view (around 50 images viewable at once) is very handy for quickly finding images in a large group. Memory cards are very cheap (we used a Kingston 4GB Class 4 SDHC SD4/4GB flash card and it worked great). I would also recommend the Fujifilm Z33WP Weatherproof Neoprene Duffle Bag for a cheap and basic camera bag. It doesn't have space for accessories, but it protects you in transit and won't float even if you drop it in the water. With one battery we were fine, although we did charge it every night after heavy use. It seemed to run out of juice fairly quickly with video, so it might be worth having a second battery, except that keeping the second battery dry can be a hassle (so we weren't worried). Anyhow, I would highly recommend this camera as a cheap waterproof camera for everyday vacation photography, or maybe as a quality camera for kids (who are old enough to be confident not to open the battery compartment). Photophiles might find something wrong with color or image quality, but for general users I think this is perfect. Also, the metallic color is purple. :)
