I bought this stand at full price at the container store when it first came out. Was glad to see the updated version here for a fraction of the full retail price. As usual, though, it turns out you get what you pay for. First, it was an obvious return. I'm stating the obvious because the previous owner left the angle adapter on the power supply, the cables were untied and stuffed into the package. As another reviewer pointed out, when you shake this item, it sounds like a baby rattle. I don't know what's in him, and I don't want to know either. I plugged it in and it seems to be working despite the loose junk rattling around inside. Connected to USB 3 on my computer, I got the expected results when I only plugged into certain ports and all others for power. It looks great and if it holds up as well as my original I will update the review. Until then, I really hesitate to leave this topic. I'll give him a couple of weeks to see if he's causing me any problems and then come back if he does.
