I have factory tanks. My 20g tank had guppies, measles and plecos of various sizes. The tank is full and well fed. That's why I bought this; Monitor ammonia. I do a 50% water change every other day and the aquarium is refiltered. Well, 2 measles babies died. And the cortex of the 3 is the most sensitive. So I checked the water, although I did a water change this morning. It turned out that the frozen food I fed was not eaten, and all parameters increased, including ammonia. I found this out after using the core API test suite. And yet the ammonia warning says the water is "safe." If I hadn't done a legal water test, I would have found dead aquarium stock. DO NOT trust that
