Shouldn't be your first choice

This laser was one of the few available that suited my application where I needed unobstructed horizontal and vertical lines. Overall, this level was easy to use and very useful. but. In daylight, it does not come close to the specified range. I tested it outside on an overcast day and saw a laser line about 20 feet from the plane. I did not buy an additional level sensor; Judging by the description, I didn't need it. After overnight testing, I doubt the detector would have been accurate because although the laser was more visible at about 45 feet, it was no longer clear. At this distance the line was quite indistinct, easily measuring 3-4mm. This measurement was a horizontal line, and while no vertical lines were observed at that distance, I suspect they would show a similar spread. It seems to exceed the tolerance given in the description. The controls were easy to use, but the on/off button was difficult to use when wearing gloves. The level will beep every time it changes configuration and exits the level. There's a button that says "outdoors" but that controls the auto-leveling feature and has nothing to do with the road or the amount of light emitted, which would be a nice feature. The device performed adequately even in light rain and was unaffected, so it likely meets the advertised weather and dust resistance specifications. It easily attached to my camera tripod, which I needed for my application, so I didn't try the mini tripod that came with it. The description says there are 12 lasers, but there are only three. The single 360 degree laser is blocked by the corner brackets of the transparent cover, dividing the laser into four sections. This spirit level is a good choice when you need 360-degree lines indoors, but can't be a versatile tool.
