Why would anyone make a heating pad out of materials that emit such a horrible, pungent chemical odor? I followed the instructions and let the notebook air out overnight. I even ran it with a powerful fan to speed up the process. The next day my whole house smells like chemicals and the heating pad is no noticeably less gross. The use of outgassing materials is a particularly poor solution for a product intended for cats and dogs, two species with superhuman senses of smell. I will buy a more expensive alternative as it seems you get what you pay for with these things.
