Review on DROK Super Small 3W+3W DC 5V Audio Amplifier ๐Ÿ”Š Module Board Dual-Channel PAM8403 Stereo Amplifiers for DIY Portable with Potentiometer by Ann Coleman

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Design flaw + cost = flaw

This amp works, but it's problematic/difficult to use in production because of two issues: (1) design flaw + (2) cost. amp, there is what you would expect and there are plenty of them. I picked this one because of the included grip and pins. It turns out that the knowledge is not that great and needs to be replaced with a nicer one, and the pins ended up not being used and instead jumpers were soldered directly onto the board (why solder the pins and then attach wires - just solder wires ) However, due to the position of the potentiometer, installation proved difficult even on thin material. The potentiometer is mounted about 1mm on the back of the board, which requires the use of a spacer (which then limits the bezel thickness). Pros โ€ข Works โ€ข USB type power supply โ€ข Convenient on/off potentiometer. โ€ข Configuration with contacts only is convenient. no built in connector making it easy to adapt (with external connectors) Cons โ€ข 2x more expensive than others โ€ข Design flaws make it difficult to use in the case โ€ข Handle and pins not as good/useful. At $9 apiece, it's not perfect. There are other vendors that sell an identical board for less than $4 each (though without the grip and pins).

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember
