The case cover is not soft - it is hard, smooth and very slippery. The inlay for the iPad is flexible, but when the iPad is placed in the holder, a protrusion appears everywhere - a very uncomfortable feeling from the home button, because when you press the button, your thumb has to go through the protrusion, and this creates a small interference. The magnet is strong and the auto sleep/wake function works very well. The screen is easy to position at different angles and holds up well, but the case is awkward to hold in your hand - it doesn't have a strap and if you grab it by the edge it's rough and uncomfortable to hold.
