Review on Katadyn Vario Ceramic Water Filtration System by Ryan Lawson

First, the Vario is a great water filter. I do a lot of camping and hiking and have had three or four different brands over the years. I also currently have a Pur model, but prefer the Katadyn because of its ergonomic handling and selectable speed depending on the desired filter service life. This ceramic disc is one of three spare parts for the Katadyn Vario filter, along with the activated carbon filters and the micro-filter itself. Of the three, this is probably the easiest to replace and can make a huge difference in filtration speed when replacing a new ceramic disc with an old one. The included instructions are easy to follow if you haven't already figured it out by cleaning the filter after use. This item is also the hardest to find (EMS, Cabela's and REI couldn't find it), so Revain is definitely the place to buy it.
