Review on Sierra International 18 3716 Johnson Evinrude by Malik Berry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Buy 18-3716D if it's cheaper.

In my research I could not figure out what the difference was between the 18-3716 and 18-3716D. This was unlike the Model D, which was $5 cheaper. The images provided were identical and the description of Model D only says "Contains: 3716 Display Pack". My concern was that it was either a display case for branded prop nut kits and such, or a replica, perhaps a plastic version of the display case not intended for in-water use. It also occurred to me that it could be for reverse threading or for a salt or freshwater variant. Fortunately, none of these fears have come true. I took a chance and found that this is the retail version in a cardboard-backed plastic sleeve, while the more expensive version just comes in a plastic bag. Not that I care, except that the retail D model is $5 cheaper than the regular one. I personally find this package more suitable for shipping in bubble bags than the plastic bag version in case the support brace gets damaged during shipping. It is also important to note that the 18-3716D Display Stand Nut Kit comes with Nut 18-3705, Cotter Pin 18-3742 and Stand Brace 18-4228. For those wondering where the products we purchase are sourced and manufactured, this product is listed as Made in Taiwan. That's all the essential information that isn't on this list or any other website I could find, nor was I able to find any contact information for Sierra International. Well my play was worth it and it goes well with my 90hp Johnson V4 outboard 13 spline gimbal. . My only disappointment is the lack of information and support from the company at all.
