Firstly the radio I received doesn't look like the picture which is good so what I have now looks better and less flimsy. The volume and transmitter controls are in a much more convenient place - on the right side. The radio itself is reasonably constructed but has a "space switch" at the top - presumably for another, more expensive version that has both AM and FM (missing here). The reception is better than expected - only AM and with that, of course, you have to work, ie. Move the radio until reception is clear. The sound is best at low volume, but also good with headphones (you need it yourself) at 2x mono. If this is your only small radio you want to buy, look elsewhere e.g. B. Sony's "ICF-S10MK2" for less than $10.00. However, if you want an OLD small radio as a collector's item or just as a reminder of the "good old days" then go for it. Please also note: This is NOT an emergency radio - the only reason the claim is based on is battery life and not enough to qualify for this type of radio, usually with NOAA weather alert channels and other features like LED backlighting. or so. However, I'm giving it 3 stars because I like it because it brings back memories of my first 4 transistor radio.
