Our band has been using two of these stands for a year and a half. They are sufficient but not very heavy. They support the weight of a Shure 57 microphone, but no more. We often found that we used some sort of extra weight on the bottom of the stand to help stabilize the stand. The base bracket that attaches the three legs to the post is beginning to wear out on one of the posts. The price was great, especially for a group just starting out. If you're playing weekly gigs and making music for groceries, I'd invest the money in a heavier rack whenever possible. They won't stand up to the rigors of normal gig work or fall over and make you look like an amateur at a gig. If you do occasional live gigs and need an inexpensive stand then you can't go wrong with these stands.
