I'm sure they're fine 10 oz. Mugs for drinking, but I find them more useful as lightweight but durable heat resistant camping pads: - Primus OmniLite Ti Stove (see picture): Great stove, but because it's super light the legs can't take the heavy weight. With the "Kleen Kanteen Stove Stand", it can work with a loaded canning cooker or other heavy pot. I bought them specifically for this purpose and they are large enough to protect the stove's rather thin legs. Do not heat the stove on bare grass and keep out of the reach of children. - Inexpensive coasters for my Solo Bonfire. They're tall enough to keep the grass from scorching, yet not so tall that they become terribly unstable. Solo's stand is undoubtedly stronger and more secure, but I already have the cups. You can imagine all of these and other use cases at your peril and peril. Aside from a slight tarnish (which a Scottish Brit would probably easily remove) they wear just as well after about four years of such regular use.
