Great deal! My husband and I used this for the first time and we really didn't know what to expect. We followed the directions (and by that I mean both he and I read the directions aloud multiple times) and the directions seem solid. And to make sure we understood the whole process, we even watched a few YouTube videos. For the sample mold, I wanted to put a finger in a small plastic container (a small Tupperware made for ranch sauce), and we found (after re-reading the instructions) that the warmer the water, the faster it sets. So we had to throw away the very first sample because it hardened faster than we could put our finger in the container. My husband just used the second mold sample with his thumb. The same container and shape came out well. (We made the water as cold as possible so we had time to mix it and make sure his thumb was in). The thumb shape came out really well (it's creepy how detailed everything is)! So last night at 9:30pm we decided to do our hand form. I figured 3lbs would be enough to hold our hands and some of our wrists so the finished project could stand a bit taller. I have such small but long fingers) so I just used a box (plastic bag inside). We used up the rest of the product and after about 15-20 minutes we were finally able to get our hands off the cast. Lots of cleaning because we don't have any special tools to get from the store. without sterilization and cleaning (we work on a farm so we just hand mixed Alja-Safe in a bucket instead). I ordered an alja-safe smooth cast 300q from another review I read and ordered part a and part b. VERY FAST ASSEMBLY in white. When it says it cures very quickly, it really means you have about 5 seconds to get rid of any air bubbles before it all cures. What we didn't have time for. I'm only giving 4 stars for my personal reason that I wish alja-safe had a size option depending on how much you want or think you will need. And that parts a and b came in jars a little larger than the 1 pound bottles we were given because just my hands and my husband's hands weren't enough. why we just did it and done it. I am very happy with the end result and it just takes some effort to know exactly what you are doing and how to do it. I suggest having a third person help as I wish my husband and I had been needed to mix everything or anything up last night. Some air bubbles and some fingertips were lost because we didn't have time to remove the air bubbles before parts a and b were installed. but the end result is that we have to sand a bit to get it to sit flat and also get rid of some imperfections. Great Mother's Day Gift or Birthday Present. We will buy again in the future. and my mom said she would do it with my two younger siblings so i will help them with that!
