I was surprised at how well this case and case fit and work for the price, I was expecting it to be a temporary solution for me but haven't started looking for a replacement yet search, Details: Shell contributes very little to width. The plastic backing is dense. The holes are all there. There is a stylish plastic extension for the volume controls. The lid has a standard magnetic closure and works great for putting the iPad to sleep. The strap is an extension of the fabric used for the lid and is molded into the plastic of the case. (No magnetic attachment like the Apple Smart Cover.) The plastic on the back adds just enough friction when you're holding the iPad so it doesn't feel slippery. When folded, the case holds the iPad at a decent angle and is stable. When folded there is no odd impact angle on the back, it lies flat. I travel quite a bit and just threw it in my backpack or briefcase. In other similar cases, this has caused corners to snap quickly, in this case still after three rides.
