I have plants with larger root systems that don't take tweezers very well. I also have 30 gallons and 55 gallons. This is clearly not enough to keep your hand wet. The paddle is weak unless you are paddling a sandy bottom. There are really tiny pebbles in my large tank that will bend the spatula. So if you're not doing anything productive or moving around the aquarium a little, the best tool in the kit is a pair of scissors. It might take more practice to use tools but I just went back to using my hands because the tools didn't do what I expected them to do, I need stronger tools, heavier ones. Small tanks can work well.
