I am a retired electrician and have installed hundreds of ceiling fans and always check the motor (and lights) before installing. THE INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD (BUT NOT HAVE TO) NOTE THAT THE DC FAN BLADES MUST BE FIXED IN ORDER FOR THE MOTOR TO RUN PROPERLY. My wife and I spent quite a bit of time researching this on the internet before we found this important fact. The seller has since updated the notes. With this fan installed, it looks very good and works as advertised. Although we had to change the bracket and canopy a bit because we installed this fan on a sloped ceiling with a 6ft floor pole and 14ft height.
