Received my first unit on Saturday. It won't work out of the box. Not installed on any computer, tried three different computers, three different operating systems, tried different cables, different power supplies. Nothing. Nothing at all. Revain and Seagate contacted. Revain sent me a new hard drive. Seagate wanted to send me a refurbished replacement unit. I have literally never used a hard drive, just took it out of the box and tried to plug it in but it didn't work. No computer would recognize it. Eventually Windows reported something was plugged into the USB, but it didn't work. And for that device, Seagate wanted to replace it with a refurbished device that met its quality standards. Today I received the second device. Guess what? Exactly the same problem. It simply doesn't exist on any computer I've tried it on. I switched cables again, tried these cables with other hard drives, tried different USB ports. It all works fine with other hard drives, and yet I get TWO Seagate hard drives in a row and neither computer even sees anything in there. tried to use for two hours never worked. When I buy a new product, I want a new product that works. If it fails after a few months, send me a refurbished unit that works. But when do I buy a broken device immediately? Don't try to shove me into someone else's broken device and tell me you fixed it when you can't even get a brand new device in the box working from day one. Overall, Revain was great. . However, Seagate was useless.
