After working in the coffee industry for a while I have relied on my brew at home because it is the only decent cup of coffee I can get, without spending my money hand. and leg. I bought this because I thought it would end the need for paper filters and help reduce waste. We care about the environment in our home so it's sad to say this has already been sent to the bin in my kitchen after just three uses. Three chances with different degrees of grinding and different mixtures. But in our home, coffee is too important to control the outcome. The filter is not thick enough to hold the sediment, resulting in an almost chalky texture. This would be comparable to what a French Press can produce, except the water goes through too quickly, resulting in a diluted flavor. This is a losing situation for us. It gets two stars because I know how picky I am and maybe others who aren't such a big deal will be happy with it and I'm not trying to demolish it as that doesn't mean I've been scammed by the makers. It is what it is. (I know I hate that expression too, but sometimes it just fits!)
