These lights are great! I was deciding between this set and another brand and I'm so glad I ordered them! They resemble Christmas light bulbs with the quality of expensive light bulbs, both in construction and color depth. I ordered red. It's almost mesmerizing how the stars in the cutouts twinkle as you walk past them. Even with a slight jerk from approaching heavy steps, the thin, light thread wobbles slightly on the inside and shimmers in the recesses. The timer is always preset and cannot be changed, so you cannot set your own time. Duration. The instructions state that if you turn the light on and leave it on for 6 hours, the light will turn off automatically. So it would be more correct to say that the light turns off automatically after 6 hours. Each candle requires 3 AA batteries, so you need 6 batteries in total. My wife and I love these lights! They will bring joy and literally brighten up our Christmas season.
