Because at first they were great, but I hadn't even had mine for 3 months and the non-stick factor was totally and completely GONE. We always hand wash them and in fact I have another main pan that I mostly use for cooking so they haven't even seen that much use. Cooking residue is so sticky to one of the pans that I can't even clean it after soaking for days. Initially I thought it was a great set and initially the non-stick properties were excellent but that changed dramatically after almost two months. After about a month, as they started to deteriorate, these pans are almost completely unusable.
