Since both sizes (insert) are included in the screw mount kit on the bottom, I was able to use it to mount on a tripod. Because I wanted to control the tilt of my camera, I then bought a ball head attachment. So now I can have a perfect tilt to the sky or the ground when doing a horizontal pan. Also, it's very easy to do a quick test at the highest speed to confirm my start and end frames before starting the slow two-hour sequence. BTW I found that 30 degrees left to right for 2 hours south at night with a 14mm lens is about the speed you need to follow moving stars. I'm not sure if anyone will use this to track stars accurately enough, but the end result definitely looked intended. Also, I have several small USB chargers and they are the perfect solution for using expensive batteries. Didn't even make it through the first night. Great product! Very happy with my purchase!
