I did some research looking for soft balls/toys to use during chemo. I decided that with any anxiety, being able to handle and crush something during treatment would help. I still like to handle soft things when I read, journal or watch TV. Anytime, really, but I was looking for something permanent that I could take with me and not have to worry about breaking and making a mess. It's awesome! I love love how soft and soft they are, but also how consistent they are with their weight/softness/hardness if that makes sense. They are not filled with water or gel so they are firm but still very soft. It is hard to explain! They don't have much smell. There may be a slight gummy odor upon opening, but I don't notice any odor after a few minutes of playing. They aren't sticky and I don't know if they can get that way or not. I think washing them might get rid of any stickiness. They have a nice texture. They are not smooth and have an orange peel-like texture, although soft to the touch, but also a bit rough? Rough is not the right word. It's soft but you can feel the texture. It's not at all off-putting and actually adds to why I love dealing with them. My kids are 11, 9, 9 and 6 and they're all asking about it now! While I would be uncomfortable giving them to young children who put them in their mouths and bite them, I would feel comfortable giving them to my youngest who is going to kindergarten and knows not to try too meal. They make great gifts, stockings, grooming kits, etc. for anyone who loves crafts or doesn't like crafts. College kids, teens, adults, elementary school kids, anyone who really loves soft textures!
