You can really only fairly evaluate anything for a cat based on how well made the product is and whether it is what it said it was. If you own a cat, you know that you can't really count on whether it is going to like or use something - you have to just try it and see what happens. My cat is about 4.5 months old now and has always wanted to go under the covers in our bed. For so many reasons, we didn't want to allow that, so I was hoping he would take to this bed. It sat for a long time without him being willing to dive in there, he seemed a bit intimidated. After several weeks, he finally checked it out and decided it was fun to play in at night, getting inside and swatting at anything nearby. So there was some progress there, he warmed up to it. However now he has awakened to the fact that he is a wool sucker and he has begun tear at the fluffy fabric it is made out of with his mouth and teeth, so I have removed it at least temporarily. I may give it another shot when he is a little older. None of this is the fault of the maker, however, so the rate it 2 stars because he isn't sleeping in it would be unfair. It seems well made, and the cover of the inner pillow is washable. If you think your cat may like it, give it a try. Just accept that a cat is a cat, and you never know what they will do.UPDATE: my cat is now about 2 years old and he has taken to this bed completely, when it is the bed he wants to use that day. He seems to have summer beds and winter beds, and he will us this more often in the winter. He has shown over time that with most things, he will take a few months to warm up to it, so we have learned not to get rid of anything but just keep trying periodically.
