I keep my test PC pretty far down in the basement outdoors, so I haven't run any ethernet cables to it yet. Instead, I used a clunky USB Wi-Fi adapter, which is pretty silly considering my motherboard has an M.2 NGFF connector and I have an M.2 802.11ax adapter. All I needed were two MHF4 IPEX antenna cables and a pair of SMA antennas - preferably slot mount. For $14 and Prime Shipping, Tenmory WiFi 8dBi RP-SMA Male Antenna 2.4GHz 5.8GHz Dual Band + 10" U.FL IPEX MHF4-RP SMA Female to M.2 NGFF Extension Cable Equals + Computer -Rear slot cover bracket I've found that it's easiest to connect the antenna cables when the M.2 card is OUTSIDE the PC, I also felt like I was going to break something to fix the Getting plugs in place I used to do an exercise when swapping out laptop wifi modules but I didn't recall the click force being that high The whole thing took a few minutes Regarding antennas and overall performance is all fine. If you want the best possible performance you should probably go for an external antenna mount, other antennas. However, it was enough for me to return around 90MB/s STR to a NAS running at 1Gb/ s. Not s bad. recommended
