I've done a lot of research, trial and error to clean grout in our new home. (Melissa Maker on Clean My Space recommends steam as the best option) Our home's previous owner decided to remodel with grouted white tile and so far it's amazing. not even they could keep it clean, and we occupied the house with dirty mortar. Compared to baking soda, oxygen, pine mortar, toilet cleaner, bissell steam boost requires less effort and less cleaning compared to other methods. Catch is the time it takes to clean up. The unit has an indicator light that will turn off when the water is properly heated and pressurized. This light often goes out and you have to wait for it to heat up again to resume efficient cleaning. I didn't notice it at first and just kept using it even after the lights came back on. On my shots I erased about 80% to save time and it made a big difference. With a bit of steam I can get the grout pretty white, but I'd rather not bother doing it now because it takes the entire tank of water in one line (from the 4 sides of the tile) to get it back to the new colour. .I know after pics look pretty messy on photos but honestly this is a HUGE improvement.
