My 10.5 month old son loves it. I wish there were more toys like this; I haven't found anything comparable. We leave it open in our basement. There are many different ways to play with it. My child likes to: - open the mailbox and pull out the cubes; Close the mailbox (repeat and repeat and repeat.) - Open the door and crawl through - Crawl upside down down the slide (both ways) - Put the ball(s) in the ramp/hole it will roll into - Use one of the pieces to help her stand up and "cross" around the perimeter - Open and close the shutters and climb through the window She doesn't use a xylophone on the door, no telescope (which you can't anything) and very rarely an additional element with random "toys" that you can play with. But he'll spend a lot of time on other features and keep coming back to them. One downside is that you really have to hold onto it once your child starts using it to pull up. It's not heavy/durable enough to stay in place if your kid presses hard on it so it moves. We don't have carpet, that could be a factor. If your child has good balance, this may not be a problem. Otherwise my kid loves it and I would definitely recommend it.
