Poor quality materials

Nice salt and pepper shakers. However, they are poorly built/use wood. They're built from small pieces of wood, that's not a problem, but they're built from inferior pieces. My set is now coming loose at the glued seams and I'm considering replacing it. They were a more expensive pair and I thought they were of a higher quality. They also give off a lot of salt and this doesn't seem to be configurable.
