Until I saw this I wasn't quite sure how it worked, because only the yellow pieces in the photographs looked like tracks. However, all the pieces have groves in different configurations, so the trick for the children is to link them together to make continuous groves for the vehicle to follow to the end.Although I imagine that most children will just prefer to figure out things on their own, which will certainly require some creative puzzle solving, there is an entire set of challenges with their solutions, on all levels, from the very easiest, on up to "expert" and "master."The set comes beautifully packaged in a neatly fitting box, along with the very complete instruction booklet. My one slight worry is fitting the four pieces together to make the playing board. It seems a little flimsy and as if it could come apart. I think if you didn't want to pack it away, but could store the entire board separately, you might want to tape it together.
