I am a yoga teacher. When I ordered this mat I thought it was beautiful, and who could resist the name "Hugger Mugger"? But the first time I used the mat I found it was EXTREMELY slippery - I couldn't hold a pose! I was very grateful I chose to try it out at home instead of in front of one of my classes. I left it unrolled in the garage for a few days and it got less slippery (perhaps whatever was on the mat dried up), so I am able to use it at home, but I still don't trust it enough to use it when I teach. It's a beautiful mat, good cushioning, good length and had no synthetic smell that I could detect - but beware the slippery surface!
