In fact, I've found that I use a small fabric ripper and run it right under the tape, cutting right through, and there's no danger of wires on the underside like a razor. For all wiring in areas exposed to direct rain/sun I use the same harness except it is not split and the ends of the wires are heat shrinkable. Great tape for it's intended purpose.
