If you purchase this for the BNC test function you will need to provide your own 25 ohm terminator. The item shown with the device looks like a terminating resistor but is actually open with no resistor. The device tests BNC connectors with a 25 ohm terminator. The electronic function makes sense. I haven't tried RJ45 or USB cables yet. There's a nice beeping feature that quickly tells you if things are up or not. Build quality isn't great, with a cheap plastic feel and too little battery real estate. The battery connector was also of poor quality and had to be pryed off the first time. All in all, if you're looking for a fast and cheap tester, providing a BNC terminator might be a good fit. I ended up building one of the supplied slugs and a 25 ohm resistor.
