I can't believe I was able to change the key and key shell without much trouble. comes from a 55+ woman, if I can do it, so can you! I would like to thank "FasterAutoKey" on YouTube for a great video tutorial. The most difficult aspect of replacing the electrical components was removing the transformer chip. As mentioned, I used a hair dryer and heated the back of the case behind the chip and it popped out with a tiny screwdriver. I now have a brand new VW key case. FYI, years ago when the red panic button fell off, the dealer wanted to charge me $300 for a new programming key. By doing it myself I paid less than $10 including a battery change! I highly recommend trying this product!
