Review on TEAC TN-400S Gloss Black Turntable With S-Shaped Tonearm And Belt Drive by Joseph Hernandez

Disappointed best in my review

First let me say fit and finish is beautiful. This is the second one I am returning. The reason being when unit is played thru the phono input, it has a hum on all 3 speeds. Verified thru 2 receivers. When played thru the preamp and aux input, their is no hum. But the output is clipped. I have a Pioneer PL 115D that this one was to replace. No hum playing on either receiver (refurbished SX 780 and an Onkyo TX 8020). I Also have an AT LP60 played thru the phono inputs. No hum. I use it in another room. I was really hoping the hum from the first one was a defect. But when the second one did the same, I was so disappointed. I had thought about the AT LP120X along with this one. Price was close, but the fit and finish and reviews was the reason I chose this one. I know some people are going to say they hear no hum. But are they using the preamp. Would like to hear.
