Review on 🌹 LGW270.AUSAPG LG Style Smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0 – Rose Gold – US Version by LG Electronics by Greg Wilkerson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cool watch, I recommend.

This watch does almost everything I need. Some people don't get enough battery life, but for me it's good enough. I don't need it always on or at maximum brightness. Disabling Android voice activation also seems to save power. I've had it running for about nine hours now and it's still at 80%. I think maybe some people will see poor battery life on day one or two because when you first get it you need to apply quite a big update. It took more than 5 hours to download. When that was done it seemed like it was still loading as the screen asking if you want to restart and apply the update didn't appear. I rebooted manually, then the update screen came up, another reboot and I was done. I believe if this update is downloaded the battery life will be pretty bad. I agree that it's easy to get caught in the crown and accidentally call the Android assistant. I was wondering if there is a left handed mode where you can swap the straps and wear them reversed, maybe that will help. The size and weight is perfect for me and I think the style is quite nice. Refined but not like a piece of black rubber strapped to my wrist. It's actually a big deal, but it's very hard to find an Android watch in this price range that has one. But I can live without. I personally found this watch to be significantly better than the Fossil Venture. I particularly like the crown, which is a push button and also rotates, rotation of which scrolls through some, but not all, menus and interfaces. The included watch faces are also pretty good and easy to customize. Item arrived in pristine condition, no complaints or problems. It comes in a big white box similar to the Apple iWatch and comes with a charging cable and a USB adapter which is nice a lot of companies don't worry about the wall wart anymore. I definitely recommend this as an entry-level Android watch, especially when you can get one for less than $200. In addition, Wear OS is said to be getting new updates, so it should be supported for a while. It's not as good as the Apple Watch, but few of them are.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Security
